NUKUS, UZBEKISTAN — Innovation, security, and intense coding came together at the recent university-wide Hackathon hosted by Nukus State Technical University. Out of numerous talented student teams competing across various technological disciplines, team "Fundev" rose to the top, securing 1st place in the highly competitive Cybersecurity category.

As cyber threats increasingly target mobile users, the team identified a critical security gap in popular messaging platforms. In response, they developed GuarDy, a cutting-edge mobile application designed to shield users from digital threats. GuarDy specifically targets, detects, and automatically deletes malicious APK files (viruses) spreading through Telegram chats and channels, preventing unauthorized access and data breaches on Android devices.

The practical functionality, robust architecture, and real-world relevance of GuarDy highly impressed the panel of judges. By addressing a widespread, modern cybersecurity problem with a seamless mobile user experience, the project stood out as the most innovative solution of the competition.

In recognition of their outstanding achievement and technical excellence, Nukus State Technical University officially awarded team "Fundev" the Grand Prize of 3,000,000 UZS.

This victory marks another significant milestone for the team, showcasing the high level of engineering talent and problem-solving capabilities brewing within the university. Moving forward, the developers plan to further optimize GuarDy's detection algorithms and explore broader implementation strategies to keep mobile ecosystems safe from evolving cyber threats.
